The beginning of April means the beginning of baseball season! My team, the Milwaukee Brewers started their season off with a win over the Colorado Rockies, before losing the next two. The offense should be pretty stellar this season, but the pitching could be a question mark.
The infield looks solid as it did a year ago.
1B will be Corey Hart and Alex Gonzalez, Hart is currently injured. Mat Gamel got knocked out for the year again.
2B will be Rickie Weeks who is off to a great start.
SS will be Jean Segura and Gonzalez, Segura is off to a nice start.
3B is Aramis Ramirez who has already hit three doubles, on pace for 162.
LF Ryan Braun, already has a homerun.
CF Carlos Gomez, off to a slow start at the plate after his best offensive season a year ago.
RF Aoki started strong in the first game, and should have a solid year.
C will be platooned by Jonathan Lucroy and Martin Maldonado, both had nice years last year.
SP Yo Gallardo one of my favorites, Marco Estrada, Wily Peralta the rookie, Kyle Lohse and Mike Fiers.
The pen could struggle this year, and John Axford needs to step up as the closer, he's struggled early.
The Albuquerque Isotopes kick off their season today vs the Iowa Cubs! I went to a few Iowa Cubs in my day as a child, and now I live a few blocks from Isotopes park. Looking at their roster, they have a great outfield this year, shouldn't have a hard time putting up runs. The I-Cubs have Brad Nelson, who was drafted by the Brewers and played against my high school in Iowa. He was a huge prospect before breaking his wrist and hasn't been the same since. Hopefully he can hit the bigs another time before he retires. Should be a fun year!
