It's getting closer to the end of the season, which makes me sad. I love college football. I didn't get a chance to watch the Iowa-Purdue game, but I knew Iowa would win. Purdue is bad, really bad. Iowa started sluggish, but pounded them in the second half on their way to a 38-14 win, making them bowl eligible for the first time since 2011.
I wasn't sold on Missouri and Auburn before this weekend, but they keep winning and they were pretty impressive. Here's my new top 25.
1-Alabama continues to roll, I don't think they'll lose in the regular season
2-Florida State might be the only team that could compete with Alabama this year
3-Baylor whooped on Oklahoma, still has to play at Oklahoma State, could be a tough one
4-Ohio State should run the table, but Michigan State could provide a huge test in the conference title game
5-Stanford nice win over Oregon, too bad a loss to Utah knocked them out of title contention
6-Clemson still looking strong after the pounding by FSU, a huge game with South Carolina awaits at the end
7-Fresno State is rolling right now, but they've had a couple close calls
8-Missouri is getting to the tough part of their schedule, I could see them losing a couple
9-Oregon just got knocked out of title contention with a tough loss at Stanford, but they'll still make a BCS game
10-Auburn I can't believe they keep winning, but they'll lose a couple
11-South Carolina could be in a perfect spot, I see Georgia winning the division and losing to Alabama, Georgia would make it based on tie-breaker with S. Carolina. South Carolina will make a BCS game if they win out
12-Louisville is looking good, still has a BCS shot
13-Northern Illinois was off this week, but I don't see anyone in the MAC taking down Jordan Lynch and the crew
14-Wisconsin had a nice win over BYU and they have a great 1-2 punch at RB
15-Oklahoma State I think will knock off Baylor at home later this year and win the conference
16-Texas A&M not winning in the best fashion, but they're winning
17-Michigan State could win out, I think they'll take down the Buckeyes in the title game
18-UCF knocked off Houston and could be on their way to a conference title
19-Arizona State had a close call with Utah, with the win they're in the driver seat to win the division
20-Texas continues winning and their losses seem to be behind them
21-UCLA had a huge road win at Arizona, a tough schedule still awaits
22-Miami looked awful against an unpredictable Virginia Tech team, they need to bounce back if they want to win the division and have another shot at the Seminoles
23-LSU put up a decent fight against Alabama, still have to face A&M
24-Oklahoma got pasted by Baylor putting them out of the conference race
25-Georgia didn't beat anyone worth a crap, but they're a good football team
Predictions
Last week was my best week for predictions, not just based on winners, but scores as well, I was pretty close on some of them. I was 10-2 in predictions. Here are the close scores: (my scores) Alabama 38 LSU 17 (38-21) Pittsburgh 28 Notre Dame 21 (24-21) Wisconsin 27 BYU 17 (31-21) Iowa 38 Purdue 14 (31-14) New Mexico 45 Air Force 37 (45-42) Not bad! 87-33 on the year.
Here are this week's games
Georgia Tech at Clemson: GT is a pretty good team, but they're no match for Clemson at home. Clemson 42 Ga Tech 28
Washington at UCLA: This should be a great game, I give the nod to UCLA, I usually go with the home team in a close one. UCLA 38 Washington 31
Stanford at USC: USC has been a different team since firing Lane Kiffin, and Stanford is coming off a huge win over Oregon. USC is going to put up a hell of a fight. Stanford 31 USC 28
Georgia at Auburn: I think Georgia is going to win out and take the division. Georgia 45 Auburn 34
Michigan State at Nebraska: The Spartans have the best defense in the country, Nebraska is going to have to make a big play on special teams or defense. Michigan State 17 Nebraska 10
Houston at Louisville: I think this one will be close in the first half, but Louisville pulls away in the second half. Louisville 38 Houston 21
Oklahoma State at Texas: Texas keeps winning, but they've had a lot of close games, Oklahoma State is talented. Oklahoma State 37 Texas 31
Michigan at Northwestern: Before the season started I saw this game as quite possibly the title game for the Legends division, now it's a battle to see who will stay our of last place. Northwestern 28 Michigan 21
Texas Tech vs Baylor: Tech is on a three game slide, Baylor is rocking. Baylor 45 Texas Tech 24
Colorado State at New Mexico: I think this will be a great game, Colorado State has one of the top RBs in the country, Kapri Bibbs (he was recruited by Iowa) and New Mexico features one of the best running teams in the country. Should be a fun one. New Mexico 38 Colorado State 34
Ball State at Northern Illinois: Ball State is 9-1 with their only loss being to North Texas. Northern Illinois at home should win. Northern Illinois 34 Ball State 24

Marcus Mariota QB Oregon numbers are still amazing, but a loss to Stanford hurts
2,531-22-0 495-9
